At myCNAjobs we work with thousands of companies in the space to overcome the challenges of Caregiver recruitment. This gives our staff a unique vantage point to the industry. With this front row seat we’re able to see what’s going on across the country in home care recruitment. We can see who’s winning, who’s not - and most importantly - why?
We sat down with Ryan Hodgen, Training and Onboarding Manager here at myCNAjobs to answer some common questions about recruiting Caregivers and CNAs.Check out his response in the quick video below. Today’s question is:
“How are you seeing agencies use text messaging to communicate with Caregivers?”
“Probably the single biggest struggle in this industry is callback rates. Every single office that I speak to, no matter where they are, is struggling with getting Caregivers to call back after they’ve reached out to them. Typically, the numbers tend to be 50% or worse. So folks are always trying, I think, to get creative with their follow up process; step two after that initial call to try to get a hold of Caregivers. One of the things I’ve seen recently is more offices exploring texting as an option. Whether that is a dedicated recruiters phone, or whether it’s an app that they’re using, something like this. I think it’s an interesting idea, and the offices that are experimenting with it are seeing a little bit of success, and see an uptick in their callbacks. I think the important thing to realize though, is it’s just that - it’s a follow-up process. The ultimate goal is to push that conversation to voice-to-voice. So these offices aren’t using texting as a means in itself. In the end, if recruiting is selling, it’s really important that you get in front of the Caregiver voice-to-voice so you can personalize that conversation and really sell them on your opportunities today."
