Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 2.14.16 PM.pngOne of the biggest pain points we hear every day is how difficult it is to retain top Caregiver and CNA talent. With candidates receiving 3+ calls a week for work - it can be tough to keep turnover numbers low. A great way to help reduce turnover while attracting new staff is to ensure your agency is remaining competitive in your offer to Caregivers. But how do you know what your competitors are offering Caregivers?

The best way to find out just what other companies are offering is to utilize the most valuable resource your business has - Caregivers! During every interview when you see a Caregiver has worked for another company; ask them about it. They don’t even need to have worked for a direct competitor, anyone in your area hiring Caregivers and CNAs should be on your radar. Go in-depth with them about what the company offered. What benefits were available? What was the most attractive part of working for that company? What made them stick around or prompted them to leave? Compare what your candidates tell you with what those companies advertise on their job postings and websites.

Write it all down and compile the information across all interviews in a useful or visual way. We built a simple competitive analysis matrix that you can download here and collect a lot of data quickly this way. Use this as a roadmap when examining how to make your agency more attractive when recruiting Caregivers - both  new talent and to better retain your current care workers.
