Reflect on your 2017 CNA & Caregiver Recruitment

Dec 20, 2017 7:39:00 AM

2018 is almost here, but before we clink glasses and ring in the new year, it’s important to reflect on what happened in 2017. Assessing your Caregiver Recruitment will help you make informed decisions about future recruitment efforts as the market continues to get more gnarly. We've laid out some steps for you to take in order to reflect below:

Assess your efforts from the past year

Think about what 2017 held for you. What resources were you using and how effective were you in utilizing them? How much time were you able to set aside for recruiting Caregivers? What were your strong points and what were your weak points?

Do a cost per hire analysis

See where your cost per hire sits for the year and benchmark it with others in the industry. How does that compare with your cost per hire at the beginning of the year? You can access a free cost per hire calculator here.

Do a benefits assessment

A big key to hiring Caregivers is staying competitive. Where do your benefits sit today compared to your competitors? What about competitors from different industries like fast food, retail, transportation, and warehousing? How does your Caregiver pay stack up? You can access a free Caregiver Pay Portal here. Which benefits are most popular with your current Caregivers and CNAs?

Review goals

What were your 2017 Caregiver and CNA Recruitment goals? In what areas did you meet them and in what areas did you fall short? Is there anything you feel you could have done better or different in order to reach them?

Set new goals

Based on what you know now, set your 2018 goals for hiring CNAs and Caregivers. Maybe you’d like to reduce your cost per hire. Perhaps you want to make a commitment to reserve more time to recruit. Write them down and share with your team.
